Homecare Services

PERSONAL CARE

Personal care services help adults with physical and mental challenges with daily activities they once did for themselves, including, but not limited to, bathing, getting ready for bed, or brushing their teeth. These in-home services can vary widely depending on your needs, but the goal is to keep clients clean, comfortable, and looking their best. For most people, using the bathroom is their first task. Caregivers can assist clients with using the restroom, showering, brushing their teeth, and getting dressed for the day.

Here’s a list of personal care services that clients request from their caregivers:

  • Bathing
  • Dressing
  • Hair care
  • Oral care
  • Grooming
  • Skincare
  • General hygiene
  • Perineal care
  • Changing adult briefs
  • Repositioning if bed-bound
  • Supporting physical therapy exercise
  • Restroom assistance

FALL PREVENTION

As people age, they begin to lose mobility and become more at risk of falling. For many elderly and disabled adults, climbing stairs, getting in and out of the shower, or even just sitting down and standing up can put them at risk of an injury from falling. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 250,000 older adults die in hospitals yearly due to falling. For the elderly, a fall can lead to additional problems, including a significant loss of mobility and independence.

Caregivers are fully prepared to help you minimize the risk of your loved one falling. We have extensive experience and fully understand where risks exist in homes. Our company would be happy to help coordinate services that will help you risk-proof your home and protect your loved one. There are also some steps you can take to eliminate risks yourself. We’ve provided a few helpful tips:

  • Tape down welcome mats and throw rugs so that your loved one doesn’t trip over corners or slip when they are loose.
  • Install night lights in hallways, bathrooms, and other dark corners.
  • Add non-slip mats in the kitchen, bathroom, or wherever necessary.
  • Install handrails in showers, near the toilet, or anywhere in the home where additional support is needed.

COMPANION CARE

Companion care is one of the most common care options we provide. This care can range from sitting, chatting, and reminiscing with someone to accompanying them on visits to see family or friends. Just because one is aging or encountering health difficulties doesn’t mean their social activities should come to an end. Companion care will make staying connected and involved easy while giving the family peace of mind knowing their loved one is not alone when they cannot be there.

Companionship activities include:

  • Shopping and errands
  • Personal correspondence and memoirs
  • Accompanying social events and friend visits
  • Gardening, scrapbooking, and other hobbies
  • Medication reminders
  • Home project assistance
  • Maintaining the safety and security of the individual and home

  • Grocery shopping
  • Meal planning/prep
